Lahori Channay Recipe Half Kilogram (2 Cups)
– 1/2kg Desi White Chana (Dip in 2 Glass of water overnight or at least 6 Hours)
Oil -1/4 Cup
Chopped Onion-1 Large
Cinnamon Stick-1 Inch Piece
Black Cardamom-3 Piece
Cloves-5 Piece
Coriander Seeds-1tsp
Star Anise-1 Piece
Green Chili Paste-1tsp
Garlic Paste-1tbsp
Ginger Paste-1tbsp
Tomato Sauce-3tbsp
Salt-1/2tsp or as Taste (but write on youtube As Taste”
Black Pepper Powder-1tsp
Garam Masala-1/4tsp
Paprika Powder-1tsp
Water as Needed
Directions
- Pour Chana in pressure cooker with 2 glass of water and steam in 8-9 Minutes for cooked 90-95% then released cooker air, open it and set aside.
- Grind Cinnamon Stick, Black Cardamom, Cloves, Coriander Seeds and Star Anise
- Take a pan and set stove on medium flame, fry onion in hot oil until half brown then add garlic paste, zinger paste, green chili paste and fry until turn dark brown. Now add tomato sauce and fry one minute then add grind spices and fry one minute. Add Boiled Chana in fry masala and cook 7-8 minutes on medium to low flame until masala is separated from oil. Add black pepper, garam masala, paprika powder and saute for 1 minute. Add water as needed and boil 1 minute.
