Peshawari Charsi Mutton Karahi Recipe

Ingredients

  • Mutton-2lb

  • One Cup Oil

  • Ginger Paste-1tbsp

  • Garlic Paste-1 tbsp

  • Tomatoes Large-5

  • Tomatoes Sauce-1 tbsp

  • Green Chili Medium Size-4

  • Yogurt Blended-3tbsp

  • Salt as Taste

  • Black Pepper-1tbsp

Directions

  • Heat one cup of oil in a pan over medium heat.
  • Add ginger and garlic paste and sauté for about one minute until aromatic.
  • Add the mutton to the pan and fry for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally to ensure even cooking and a light sear on the meat.
  • Pour in one cup of water, cover the pan with a lid, and cook the mutton on medium heat for 35-40 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking or burning.
  • After 35-40 minutes, remove the lid and add five large tomatoes to the pan. Fry for one minute.
  • Cover the pan again and cook for another 4-5 minutes, allowing the tomatoes to soften.
  • Uncover the pan, remove the tomato skins, and mash the tomatoes in the pan.
  • Add one tablespoon of tomato sauce and three tablespoons of yogurt. Fry the mixture thoroughly until the mutton becomes tender and the oil begins to separate.
  • Season the dish with salt and black pepper to taste, then add thin slices of fresh ginger for extra flavor.
  • Fry for one more minute to blend the flavors.
