Chinese Chicken Manchurian Recipe
Ingredients
For Fried Chicken
– 1.5kg (3.3lb) Chicken Boneless Cubes
– 3/4 Cup Corn Starch
– 4 tbsp Soy Sauce
– 1 Egg
– 1 tsp Garlic Paste
– 1 tbsp Ginger Paste
– 1-1/2 tsp Black Pepper
– 3/4 tbsp Salt (As Taste)
– Oil for Frying Chicken
For Gravy:
– 3 Cup of Water or as Needed
– 1/4 Cup Oil
– 2 tbsp Ginger Paste
– 1 1/2 tbsp Garlic Paste
– 3 tbsp Vinegar
– 5 tbsp Soy Sauce
– 3 tbsp Chili Sauce
– 1 tsp Red Chili Powder
– 1 tbsp Chinese Salt or 1 Chicken Cube
– 4 tbsp Sugar (As Taste)
– 1 1/2 tbsp Black Pepper Powder
– 1 tbsp Paprika
– Salt as Taste
– 2 Cup Tomato Ketchup
– 5 tbsp Corn Starch mixed with 10 tbsp Water
– 1 Large Onion in Small Cubes
– 1 Green Capsicum in Small Cubes
– 1/2 Orange Capsicum in Small Cubes
– 3/4 Cup Green Onion in Small Cubes
Directions
- For Fried Chicken:
- Marinade all ingredients in chicken except oil and keep aside for at least 1-2 hours. Then, fry the marinaded chicken on medium heat at 360°F, pre-heated. When the chicken turns golden brown, take it out of the oil.
- For Gravy:
- Fry garlic and ginger in hot oil till golden brown, then add capsicum, onion, green onion, vinegar, soy sauce, chili sauce, red chili powder, Chinese salt, sugar, black pepper powder, paprika, and salt and sauté for 2 minutes at medium heat.
- Add tomato ketchup and sauté for 1 minute. Now on high flame, add water, wait for it to fully boil, then add cornstarch (pre-mixed in water) for thick gravy. After that, add the fried chicken and wait for it to fully boil. Turn off the stove. Chicken Manchurian is ready. Dish out and serve with a Chinese egg and vegetable-fried rice.
- Note: Water can be added less or more depending on the thickness of the gravy, and salt should be added at the end as a taste.
