Directions
- Take a plate and add garlic paste, ginger paste, crushed ajwain seeds, and white distilled vinegar. Mix everything thoroughly. Rub this mixture on both sides of the fish fillets to help neutralize any strong fish odor. Allow it to sit for 15 minutes, then rinse the fish well and pat it dryβthis will reduce the fishy smell.
- In a bowl, combine garlic paste, garlic powder, coriander powder, salt to taste, cumin powder, crushed ajwain seeds, fish masala, red chili flakes, lemon juice, gram flour (besan), and a pinch of orange food color. Mix until well combined, then coat both sides of the dry fish fillets with this marinade. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat a tawa (griddle) or frying pan on medium heat. Add 2-3 tablespoons of oil, spreading it evenly in the pan. Place the marinated fish in the pan and fry for 4-5 minutes. Flip the fish and cook the other side for another 4-5 minutes, making a total cooking time of about 8-10 minutes. If the fish begins to burn, reduce the heat.
- Once cooked, remove the fish from the pan and repeat for the remaining fillets. Your delicious and quick Special Tawa Fish Fry is ready. Enjoy it with our Special Apricot Green Chutney for an extra burst of flavor!
