Special Lahori Chicken Karahi Recipe
Ingredients
Oil – 1 cup
Chicken – 1kg (2.2lb)
Garlic Paste – 1tsp
Ginger Paste – 1tbsp
Salt as Taste
Tomatoes Paste – 5 Large Size
Red Chili Powder – 1tsp
Coriander Powder – 1tbsp
Cumin Seeds – 1tsp
Butter – 1tbsp
Blended Yogurt – 3tbsp
Black Pepper Powder – 1/2tsp
Garam Masala – 1/2tsp
Zinger Julienne – 2 inches
Green Chili 3-4
Directions
- Heat oil in a karahi over medium heat.
- Add garlic and ginger paste to the oil and sauté for about one minute until golden brown.
- Add the chicken to the karahi and cook until it turns light brown.
- Stir in the tomato paste and mix well.
- Cover the karahi with a lid and let the mixture cook for about 5-6 minutes.
- After 5-6 minutes, uncover the karahi and cook until the oil separates from the mixture.
- Add salt, red chili powder, coriander powder, and cumin seeds.
- Fry the spices for about 30 seconds to 1 minute to release their flavor.
- Add butter and blended yogurt to the mixture, stirring well. Cook until the oil separates once again.
- Finally, add black pepper powder, garam masala, ginger julienne, and green chilies. Fry the mixture for 1-2 minutes to incorporate all the flavors.
- Special Lahori chicken karahi is ready to be served
